Sulphur & Sulphuric Acid Railcar Fleet
ICEC, an H.J. Baker Company, owns and operates North America’s largest and newest independent sulphur railcar fleet. With more than 1400 railcars, ICEC has the flexibility to cover suppliers’ fluctuations in production.
The fleet is highly specialized for the transportation of molten sulphur and sulphuric acid. The cars are able to withstand the extreme environments associated with these products. These types of railcars require expertise to manage and maintain in accordance with regulatory requirements.
To complement this fleet, ICEC has a number of transloaders with a combined capacity of 750k tons located throughout the US and Canada that provide continuity of the product flow down the logistics chain.
ICEC follows company-wide health and safety standards which are compliant with OSHA and International guidelines. We work closely in association with all governing regulatory agencies.
We have been the recipient of the Gold Safe Handling Award from the Canadian National Railway every year since 2003 and the NS Safety Chemical Award every year since 2006. In 2019 ICEC received the AAR’s Grand Slam Award for being an exemplary shipper of hazardous materials. An award winner must have been recognized by at least four Class I railroads and have had zero non-accident releases involving their shipments in the previous calendar year.
